- Our Objectives
- To Promote the economic welfare of members by mobilising primarily the members of the Congolese community in Southern Africa to unite in the spirit and drive of saving in order to uplift the economic perspective of the cooperative’s members and the community in general.
- To strive for the cooperative to attain a level of savings that will support credit granting to its members in line with its Constitution and its Code of conduct as well as regulations of the Republic of South Africa.
- To encourage and promote the thrift culture within the members as well as the community by teaching wise use of their money and efficient management of their limited resources.
- To receive funds by the issue of shares and acceptance of deposits from members;
- To Encourage savings by providing a means whereby such savings and shares may receive a reasonable rate of interest;
- To extend loans to members for productive and provident purposes, thus making finance more accessible for members when they need it.
- To develop a sense of self-reliance in its members by teaching them how to create assets that help them to have guarantees and collaterals for future loan access.
- To educate members in money management and control; also promote the understanding of the economic framework within which cooperatives operate;
- To promote interest in community development and develop a sense of honesty and responsibility within members.
- To encourage and galvanise immigrant’s contribution in the host country South Africa for the benefit of all.
- To conduct any other business related to the mission and vision of the CoopCongo Cooperative Financial Institution.
